- Jim Dalrymple from Loopinsight mentioned that:
Apple’s apparent focus on software in its WWDC announcement backs up what my own sources are saying about the annual conference. That is, expect a software show in 2011, not a hardware event.”
- Thus, this news crushed all hopes for the iPhone fans to get their hands on iPhone 5 this June.
- If there is no news regarding manufacturing of its parts, we will not be seeing it even the end of this year. Most probably sometime next year (2012).
- It’s either Apple is cooking up a much better features for the iPhone 5 or trying to resolve the manufacturing issues.
- Either way, I am also quite disappointed. I was really hoping to get Apple new gadget this year (since I am not getting the iPad 2).
- What about you, guys? Disappointed too?
[How-To] - Downgrade iOS 4.3.1 To 4.3, 4.2.1, 4.1 on iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch
- Yesterday, Apple released iOS 4.3.1 for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, and iPod touch 4G/3G.
- If you “accidentally” upgraded to iOS 4.3.1, and now you want to downgrade back to iOS 4.3, iOS 4.2.1 or 4.1, simply follow the instructions posted below to downgrade iOS 4.3.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch, iPad 2 and iPad 1 to iOS 4.3, iOS 4.2.1, 4.1, 4.0.x.
This process is only for those who have already saved the ECIDs with SHSH to Cydia Server for iOS 4.1, iOS 4.0.1 or iOS 4.0.2 (You must have done/saved this before the release of iOS 4.2.)

Downgrade iOS 4.3.1 To 4.3, 4.2.1, 4.1 on iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch:
Step 1:
- Download the required old ipsw firmware files.
- (Download links: iOS 4.3, iOS 4.2.1, iOS 4.1, iOS 4.0.2, iOS 4.0.1)
Put your device into DFU mode (not recovery mode).
- Connect your iOS device to your computer.
- Turn it off.
- Start iTunes.
- Hold Power and Home buttons together for 10 seconds or so.
- Release Power button but keep holding the Home button until your computer recognizes a new USB device.
- iTunes will now recognize your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Step 3:
- Navigate to the path “c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\” and open the hosts file in a Notepad or Wordpad.
- MAC users can navigate to the path “/etc/” and open the hosts file with TextEdit.
Windows users
- Open Notepad with admin privileges, then right click on the icon of notepad and click on “Open as administrator”
- Now that the Notepad is open Go to folder C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc and open the file.
- Add the following line at the end of the document and save it: 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
- Navigate to Go -> Go To Folder and enter the path /etc
- Open the file hosts with TextEdit, add the following string 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com and save the file to your desktop.
- Now return to the previous folder by following the same method and copy the text within this file by replacing the original file (If prompted for a password enter it and click OK)
NOTE: For Windows 7 and Vista: Start “Notepad” with Administrator privileges by right clicking on “Notepad” app, and click on “Run as Administrator“ option.
NOTE: For Mac OS X: Make sure you have full read and write access on your account when you are saving the host file. If it still throws permission error, simply copy the host file to desktop, make the required changes, and then replace it with the original file in “/etc/” directory.
Step 4:
- Start iTunes, click on your iOS device icon from the sidebar in iTunes.
- Now press and hold left “alt” (option) button on Mac, or Left “Shift” button if you are on Windows on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” (Not “Update” or “Check for Update”) button in the iTunes and then release this button.
- This will make iTunes prompt you to select the location for your iOS 4.3, iOS 4.2.1 or 4.1 firmware file.
- Select the desired ipsw file and click on “Open” to restore your iOS device.
- Now sit back and enjoy as iTunes does the rest for you.
- This will involve a series of automated steps. Be patient at this stage and don’t do anything silly.
- Just wait while iTunes installs the requested firmware on your iOS device.
- Your device screen at this point will be showing a progress bar indicating installation progress.
- Once done, it will reboot automatically.
- Now in some cases while restoring to iOS 4.3, iOS 4.2.1 or 4.1, iTunes might throw 1013 error at you as shown in the screenshot below. This is normal, just ignore this error as the firmware has already been successfully installed on the device
- Incase of the above mentioned error, your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch will be stuck in Recovery Mode, showing that “Connect to iTunes” screen.
- To exit your device from Recovery Mode, download this program called TinyUmbrella (Windows/Mac). Run it and the click on “Exit Recovery” button. Your device will now restart normally.
- That’s it! You successfully downgraded iOS 4.3.1 to iOS 4.3 iOS 4.2.1, 4.1, 4.02, 4.01 firmware. You can follow the normal guides to jailbreak firmware iOS 4.2.1, iOS 4.1, iOS 4.0.2 or 4.0.1.
- Last but not the least, you must now remove 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com line from the host file so that you are prompted for future updates from Apple via iTunes.

- iPad 2 has a thickness of 8.8mm (thinner than iPhone 4) whereas the Macbook Air is 17 mm at its thickest, and 2.8mm at its thinnest.
- It looks like the Air is much thinner.
- Which one will you carry around? As for me - I carry around my MBA at the office/home and my iPad 1 is mainly at home or during my travel (outside office) or vacation. Of course I need to carry my iPhone 4 (since my iPad is WiFi only)
- MBA can do a lot more for my work as compared to iPad. Nothing can replace the Powerpoint, Word, Photoshop, Emailing, Surfing.
- But the iPad excel in other ways - light browsing, digital newspaper, ebook reading, gaming, watching videos...
- I used to list down 13 reasons why I like my iPad. I tried to purchase a lot of Productivity Apps after a month of usage thinking it can "really" increase my daily productivity.
- After 2 months of usage, I tried downloading several apps that can read PDF files to make my life easier reading eBooks. But it still failed to change my reading lifestyle.
- I heard a lot of students trying to justify their iPad purchase without knowing the long term impact to their study habits.
- I began to find my natural ways of using the iPad after 100 days.
- Nowadays (i.e. after 1 year using iPad), I think the best iPad app for me would be Flipboard. This is my Digital Newspaper and my reading material at home.

Possible iPhone 4 Cases to be Reuse in iPhone 5
- If this story is correct (Possible iPhone 5 cases could mean continued iPhone 4 design with larger screen), we will be able to continue use our favorite iPhone 4 cases.
- Sometimes, its quite frustrating to change cases every time we upgrade phones. What a waste!
- But this also shows that Apple is not keen to design a “bigger” iPhone and think the current iPhone 4 have the optimum size.
- Rumors also mentioned that the iPhone 5 will have a much bigger screen (4”) which will occupy the whole width of iPhone (end-to-end).
- Personally, I can’t imagine carrying a much bigger iPhone. The current iPhone 4 with the extra battery Mophie Juice pack Air already made my iPhone seems to be quite huge in size (people have been asking what device I am carrying - looks like an iPhone, feels like an iPhone but the size is not like an iPhone!)

[HOW-TO] - Jailbreak iOS 4.3 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod touch on Windows Using Sn0wbreeze 2.3
- I am a Mac user thus I don’t have the capability to test the latest Jailbreak from ih8sn0w’s Sn0wbreeze.
- However, if you are a Windows user, you have the opportunity to Jailbreak using the method shown in the article from Redmond “Jailbreak iOS 4.3 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod Touch on WIndows using Sn0wbreeze 2.3 [Guide]”.
- However, take note that it is still a Tethered Jailbreak meaning you have to boot into a Jailbroken state every time you reboot your device. To do that, you need to run iBooty for Windows.
- Also take note that there is no unlock solution for iOS 4.3 yet. Hope it will be release soon by the Dev Team.

Purchased mophie juice pack air
- My iPhone 4 recently seems to drain the battery faster than ever. Most probably due to my high usage of Internet applications such as Whatsapp, Twitter, FB and Foursquare. In fact recently, when Whatsapp introduced its Group Chat, the traffic just increase tremendously.
- Thus, I decide to buy an extra battery pack - its either Mophie Juice Pack Air or the Exolife. However, after watching the videos regarding both batteries, I decided to buy the Juice Pack.
- First, I went to Machines in KLCC but it is out of stock even though one of my Twitter friends said they have in stock... :-(
- However, I finally purchased it at Mac Studio in Low Yat Plaza. The price is RM 318. But they only have either White or Red color. I was trying to get the black one but finally decided to get the White one (since Apple did not launch its White iPhone 4)...
- But later I realized the problem of getting the right iPhone 4 case for this. Due to its length, I cannot find any that suits it perfectly.

iPad 3 in 2011?
- For some who felt that the latest iPad 2 doesn’t give them a big reason to jump and thought that most probably Apple will release iPad 3, you are going to get a big disappointment. Steve Jobs have declared that 2011 will the “The Year of iPad 2”.
- Furthermore, Apple released the first Gen iPad in April 3, 2010. A normal Apple product cycle is always between 1-2 years. We might see iPad 3 in 2012... Let’s see..

- Why wait for March 11 when you can try iOS 4.3 now?
- Want to upgrade to iOS 4.3 which Steve Jobs mentioned yesterday but don't have a developer account?
- The good news is that you can get it right now .
- You do not need your UDID to execute the installation.
- Just follow our steps right below and don't forget that iOS 4.3 needs the latest iTunes 10.2.
STEP 2: Now, you need to download the right gold master version for your device:
- iPhone 4, from here.
- iPhone 3GS, from here.
- iPod touch 4G, from here.
- iPod touch 3G, from here.
- iPad 3G and Wi-Fi, get this one.

[HOW-TO]: A TIP to Receive SMS Notification (Tested on Celcom Network)
- When you send an SMS, did you ever wonder whether the person at the other end have received your SMS or just ignore it?
- Here's a way to give you a notification when the SMS has been received safely (it will also notify when the person switched ON the phone)
- When you write an SMS, you can start with the first 3 characters *n#
- For example, you can send a message like this
*n#How are you? Did you get the message for dinner tonite?
- Once the person received the SMS safely, you will get a notification (for example):
Message for +6019XXXXXXX, with identification 11022819XXXX has been delivered on 2011-02-28 at 19:13:23
- Thus, there will be no reason for the person to say, he have not read the SMS or he switched off his phone etc.
- Can you guys try on other mobile operators and tell me whether it also works the same?

What's amazing is the thickness or the thinness of the device! Thinner than iPhone 4!
What strikes me is the "Smart Cover"... Truly unique and I am sure its patented - take a look at how you can roll the cover and turn it into a stand!
